3/1: PDX Dining Month*

There are over 100 restaurant participants for this year’s Portland Dining Month! For the entire month of March, participants are offering a three-course meal for $33. This gives Portlanders and tourists a chance to taste some of the newcomer restaurants and classic favorites in town! This is the ninth year of Portland Dining Month – don’t miss out on this yummy opportunity! View the event page here.

3/2: PNCA, “Strong Female Protagonist”*

“Strong Female Protagonist is a comedic, queer solo performance that prioritizes the power of femininity and sass… One part autobiography, one part 1980s nostalgia, one part drag fantasy, this queer solo performance celebrates the powerful feminine role models to which we all looked up.”

3/2: Black out Beer Festival

“The 6th annual Black Out Beer Fest will take place Friday, March 2, from 4pm to 10pm at Lompoc Sidebar, located at 3901 N Williams Ave., and inside the Lompoc Brewery. The event will feature two dozen rotating dark beers from Lompoc… and more than 20 guest breweries from around the Northwest. ”

3/3: 5 Year Anniversary Party

“Portland Cider Company is celebrating 5 years!! We cannot believe it and we can’t wait to celebrate with all of our amazing fans. On the first Saturday of March we will be partying in cider-style with: 5 Year Anniversary limited release bottle “Throwback Scrumpy” *** Only 120 bottles available of a high ABV scrumpy hand bottled for our 5 Year Anniversary!”

3/3: Chowder Challenge 

“The beloved Chowder Challenge is returning. This year’s event, our 11th, will take place on Saturday, March 3 from 12-3pm (or until chowders run out) at the Fifth Quadrant, as well as inside the brewery, and at our Sidebar Tasting Room… Attendees receive a tray with 12 numbered two-ounce samples of chowder, then vote for their favorite; the chowder receiving the most votes is named the People’s Choice Winner.”

3/3: Portland Saturday Market Opening Weekend

On March 3rd & 4th, PSM opens once again to showcase Oregon’s best handmade products for their 45th year. PSM will feature many special events and giveaways!

3/8: PICA’s South American Arts Festival

“This event is an an all-age, multi-cultural celebration that showcases and highlights South Asian arts and artists. Poets, musicians, story-tellers, dancers, and multi-media artists will present performances, demonstrations, and workshops. The Festival will also host community conversations and panel discussions on topics of social justice, the immigrant life, cross-cultural community and friendship, and youth initiatives.”

3/9: POW Film Fest

“The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (POW Film Fest) places a spotlight on women directors by showcasing their work and strengthening the community of women in film. POW Film Fest empowers women to find their voice and to share their stories through innovative and quality filmmaking. We feature the work of today’s top women directors, honoring the true innovators, while providing support and recognition for the next generation of leading women filmmakers.”

3/10: Cider Rite, Leftbank Annex*

“Cider Rite of Spring is a celebration of the blossoming Northwest Cider industry— an annual cider tasting event welcoming the return of spring, featuring over 100 unique ciders served by 35 different cidermakers and cidery representatives only from the PNW. The Rite of Spring will be bigger than ever in our new location and include a special VIP hour from 12-1 plus a unique VIP lounge sponsored by Square Mile Cider throughout the day. There will also be a pop up store where guests can purchase cider to go!”

3/10: Buckman Art Show

“Join us for 130 artists selling their original artwork, jewelry, ceramics and more! ​Food carts, performances, art activities & a student art gallery for a full weekend of fun! Shop for a good cause, 30% of all sales are donated to the Buckman PTA to support arts education. ”

3/16: Irish Beer Festival @ Kells

March 17-18th: St. Patrick’s Day Festival @ Paddy’s Bar & Grill 

“Paddy’s Bar & Grill, Portland’s oldest Irish pub, is proud to host their 9th annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival Fundraiser, on March 17-18, 2018. Celebrate Irish culture at our 2-day tented street festival with live Irish music, bagpipers, and Irish dancers, as well as traditional Irish food and drink!”

March 17th: Sellwood-Moreland’s 20th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade

“At noon the Sellwood Middle School Marching Band will lead hundreds of people and parade through the main streets of the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood beginning and ending at St. Agatha School. The parade features bagpipes, Portland Fire & Rescue’s big fire truck, members of the Gaelic Football Portland Police Traffic Division’s motorcycle officers, children with decorated bikes and wagons and many people proudly wearing Irish green.”

March 18th: Shamrock Run Portland | St. Patrick’s Day, 5k, 8k, 15k and Half Marathon

“Help Shamrock Run say cheers to 40 years! This St. Patrick’s day, get active with running, walking, and dancing at Oregon’s largest running event. The Shamrock Run kicks off its 40th year at Tom McCall Waterfront Park on Sunday, March the 18th. 3,000 ambitious leprechauns can take on the half marathon, while the littlest wood-elves can toddle down the 1k Blazer’s Leprechaun Lap with Blaze and the Blazers dancers. In between there will be a run or walk for every fitness level and family.”

March 18. 1 p.m.: ST. PATRICK’S PARADE SET FOR GRANT PARK:

 

“Steve O’Slavik’s 28th annual Northeast Neighborhood St. Patrick’s Day parade will promenade along streets of Grant Park neighborhood. 3/24: PDX Tequila & Tacos
