Oregon is notorious for its long, damp autumn and winter months. As we prepare for the inevitable change of seasons, exchanging t-shirts for hoodies and sandals for galoshes, it is easy to forget all of the great things that the cooler months have to offer. Specifically, we here at Urban Works are extremely excited for all of the new restaurants coming to Portland this fall. Eater recently published this article listing all of the new eateries on the horizon, here are a few that we are especially excited about.
Breakside Brewery – The long awaited brewery and pub will finally open its doors beside the New Seasons Market in Slabtown this fall. Slabtown is really beginning to take shape as one of Portland’s premiere neighborhoods. Breakside joins Please Louise, Besaw’s, and the recently opened Solo Club in what is destined to become one of Portland’s busiest foodie hotspots.
Stacked Sandwich Shop – Gabriel Pascuzzi, the classically trained chef behind PN26, will open his new sandwich venture this fall joining Simple at the Clay Creative office building in the Central East Side. We’re just a few blocks away, so, it looks like sandwiches are definitely on the lunch menu here at Urban Works.
Wayfinder Brewery – The new joint venture from Rodney Muirhead (Owner, Podnah’s Pit), Charlie Devereux (Co-Owner, Double Mountain Brewery), and Matt Jacobson (Founder, Sizzle Pie) is sure to be a hit once it opens its doors this fall or winter in the Urban Row building at 304 SE 2nd. Three of Portland’s best-known culinarians offering beer, barbecue, pizza, and a 100 seat deck? Count us in!
