Neighborhood Description: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, at the east end of downtown, provides the venue for numerous events and festivals year-around, including the Rose Festival, Jazz Festival, Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure, Cinco de Mayo and others. Riverplace Marina, featuring mixed-use condominiums, flats and apartments with ground floor retail, anchors the area. Local restaurants and retail shops that thrive during warmer summer months occupy these retail spaces and help energize the Riverplace "boardwalk" overlooking the Marina. Many restaurants and commercial service tenants are attracted to the area to serve the waterfront business district and seasonal pedestrian traffic. The south end of the district and north of the Marquam Bridge, is The Strand condominium project consisting of three condominium buildings with 210 units and ground floor retail. The Strand at Riverplace borders several ripe parcels of land awaiting future development and connections to the South Waterfront and Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU) campus expansion.
