John's Landing / Corbett

Corbett Fish House

Neighborhood Description: John’s Landing is close to OHSU’s and Lewis & Clark College’s campuses and therefore has a large population of young professionals. Bordering the Willamette River this area is a mixture of Victorian homes, condominiums, unique shops and office complexes with great views of the Southwest Hills. The resident population of this area will increase as OHSU expands into South Waterfront, assuring any business plenty of foot traffic in years to come. The major retailers within the area are clustered along two very different streets, the majority of national tenants , office buildings and professionals are located along SW Macadam in a one mile stretch from Terwilliger north towards Downtown Portland, this area is home to Zupan’s, Starbucks and Wells Fargo and the iconic Water Tower at John’s Landing.  The emerging Corbett Avenue has much more of a neighborhood feel and so becomes the street of choice for the smaller retailers looking to get away from the hustle and bustle along Macadam.  With the fruition of the South Waterfront District to the south, John’s Landing seems to be positioned perfectly for growth on all fronts.
