The mission: to bring simple and authentic pleasures of the highest quality to the Rose City and beyond.
It’s time to rejoice! After months of waiting, Wayfinder Beer opens its doors tomorrow at 11am. The brainchild of Charlie Devereux (co-founder of Double Mountain Brewery), Matthew Jacobson (co-founder/owner of Sizzle Pie, Quality Bar, and Relapse Records) and Rodney Muirhead (co-founder/owner of Podnah’s Pit and La Taq), features a 110-seat taphall, a massive patio, hand-crafted comfort food from a custom wood-fired grill, and soon, world-class lagers and ales brewed on-site in the four-vessel, 10-barrel brewhouse. While the final touches are being put on the brewhouse, the team has collaborated with some outstanding breweries, including Baerlic, Hopworks, and 54° 40’, for their initial 16-tap offering of frosty beverages.
With all of the planning that has gone into this new venture from Portland’s culinary dream team, it’s no wonder that Wayfinder was dubbed “Portland’s most ambitious and highly anticipated new brewery of 2016” by Newschoolbeer.com. To pass the time before the opening, here are some great articles about the opening from Portland Monthly, New School Beer, and Eater. We here at urban works are counting down the minutes until 11am tomorrow, hey, it’ll be 5 o’clock somewhere!
