Urban Markets a Must

New Seasons came to Urban Works because of our keen understanding of Portland's urban markets, which they were struggling to penetrate. Based on their brand values, consumer goods offering, and price points, Urban Works identified key urban locations in need of New Seasons Markets. To date Urban Works has negotiated leases on behalf of New Seasons in N Williams, Grant Park Village, Fisher's Landing, Mountain Park,  and Slabtown Marketplace.

The Story of New Seasons Slabtown

New Seasons, with its sights on NW Portland, planned to back-fill a NW 23rd and Burnside location. However, with Urban Works' help, the grocer found a desirable build-to-suit location in the brand new Slabtown Development at NW 21st & Raleigh. The location, anchoring Slabtown Marketplace, has become one of their most successful locations..

Urban Works took a holistic approach to the NW Portland trade area. Instead of solely focusing on The Pearl and NW 23rd area, Urban Works identified the available property in the Con-Way redevelopment zone and introduced the grocer to the development team. Urban Works studied the neighborhood’s planned growth, zoning, and demographics in order to provide the New Seasons board with valuable insights.
