South Waterfront Case Study

Portland's eco district


Remember when the only thing at South Waterfront was OHSU? Now you find a mini high rise city tucked away just minutes from downtown Portland. Urban Works represented 10 mixed-use buildings developed by several entities featuring ground floor retail in the South Waterfront district.


70,000 SF of retail leased to date. With the goal of creating a sustainable community Urban Works negotiated leases with restaurants such as Growler Guys and Little Big Burger as well as service retail such as Ride Pdx, doggie daycare, dental office and barber shops.


Developers worked with the goal of creating a self-sustaining Eco district. The outcome is a sophisticated urban neighborhood located in an inspiring natural setting along the Willamette River.
